Disaster Preparedness and Recovery Alliance
Preparing for disasters through corporate and community partnerships
Mission Statement
The Disaster Preparedness and Recovery Alliance (DPRA) will assist companies, schools and community organizations to form an alliance of partnerships that share up-to-date preparedness information that assists in mitigation and continuity planning with the ultimate goal to minimize injury and damage and expedite total organizational recovery.
General Information
Now, more than ever, we need to pull together and share our knowledge, resources, and expertise to prepare for any emergency. The American Red Cross of Orange County encourages all workplaces to invest in emergency preparedness. We are striving to bring together our corporate, public and private communities to work to achieve a level of preparedness that may ultimately save lives.
The DPRA is supported by members representing small and large businesses, community organizations, municipal agencies, non-profit organizations, universities and schools. The mission of the DPRA is to establish opportunities to network and share information on emergency planning, training and disaster recovery.
"Private-public sector preparedness is not a luxury: it is a cost of doing business in the post-9/11 world. It is ignored at a tremendous potential cost in lives, money, and national security.“ -- 9/11 Commission Report
