Red Cross Donates New Toys to Needy Children
Toys distributed at annual holiday-themed Children’s Safety Festival in December
SANTA ANA, Calif. – The American Red Cross asked Southern Californians to join us in providing a day of holiday joy for local families and join us they did.
The 23rd annual Children’s Safety Festival was an invitation-only event for elementary school students who could use an extra dose of happiness this season. Each child received a new toy and participated in fun activities, such as cookie decorating and face painting.
The event’s planning committee is comprised entirely of Red Cross high school volunteers in Orange and San Bernardino Counties. But they couldn’t do it alone. A huge thanks goes out to everyone who helped make the holidays a little brighter for local families.
Help people affected by disasters by donating to American Red Cross Disaster Relief. On those rare occasions when donations exceed Red Cross expenses for a specific disaster, contributions are used to prepare for and serve victims of other disasters. Your gift enables the Red Cross to provide shelter, food, counseling and other assistance to victims of all disasters. Call (714) 481-5300 or 1-800-RED-CROSS (1-800-733-2767). Contributions may be sent to the American Red Cross, 601 North Golden Circle Drive, Santa Ana, CA 92705. Internet users can make a secure online contribution by visiting oc-redcross.org.
