American Red Cross Lifeline Program

The American Red Cross Lifeline program provides peace-of-mind and access to help around-the-clock. Lifeline is easy-to-use and reduces the risk of living alone. In the event of a fall or an emergency, help is literally available at the push of a button.

The Lifeline Personal Help Button is worn around the neck or on the wrist and can be pressed at any time to connect you with a trained personal response associate who can send help quickly - 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

How Lifeline Works

Summon Help
When you need assistance, simply press your personal help button, which activates the CarePartner Communicator.
Professional Intervention
Your CarePartner Communicator automatically dials the Lifeline Response Center and establishes voice communication between you and a trained response associate.
Personal Response
The response associate quickly accesses your profile and ascertains the situation.
Closed Loop
The associate then contacts a neighbor, loved one or emergency services based on your specific needs. The Lifeline associate will also follow-up to ensure that help has arrived.

Equipment Options

The subscription fee ranges from $40.75 to $46.00 per month depending on the equipment selected. There is also a one-time activation fee of $82.95.

Personal Help Button
There are three options to choose from:
The classic pendant with an adjustable cord is worn like a necklace and weighs less than 1/2 an ounce. It’s also waterproof, so it can be worn in the shower or bathtub, where falls often occur.
The slimline personal help button offers the same great features as the classic pendant, but in a new slimline shape that can also be worn around the wrist.
The Tempo Watch offers a convenient and discreet way to wear your help button. The attractive Timex watch is water resistant and is available with a metal or leatherette band.

CarePartner Communicator
Choose from the following two options:
The basic communicator hooks into your existing phone line and works with your personal help button to get you whatever assistance you may need anywhere in your home. The cost for the basic unit and button is $40.75 a month.
The Lifeline Telephone with Reminders provides the same features as the basic communicator, but in a telephone that can be programmed to provide reminders on taking medication, doctors’ appointments, eating well and more. The cost for the telephone unit and button is $46.00 per month.
