BENEFITS OF RED CROSS WORKPLACE TRAINING PROGRAMS Programs are OSHA approved and can be customized to fit your company’s specific needs. The American Red Cross certificate is recognized and accepted by national institutes and organizations. Training is conducted by highly trained, certified American Red Cross Instructors. NEW American Red Cross Workplace-First Aid and CPR programs can be completed in less time and can include optional injury prevention modules. Price includes everything! (Instructor fees, supplies, equipment, etc.) Red Cross offers your company a variety of different options to receive training. Options include:• Full service (we provide the training at your workplace for 10 or more employees). • Pre-scheduled community classes at the Orange County Red Cross. • Your company can become an Authorized Provider of Red Cross courses by having one or more of your employees trained to teach first aid and CPR. FIRST AID AND CPR CLASSES Workplace Adult CPR and First Aid - 6 hours Includes Adult CPR, respiratory emergencies, choking maneuvers, bleeding control, burns, shock prevention, sudden illnesses, fractures, etc. Program focuses on workplace scenarios and will give individuals the skills necessary to recognize and provide basic care for injuries and illnesses until advanced medical personnel arrive. Price includes participant’s booklet and two laminated skill cards, which can be used to refresh memory throughout the year. 3-year certificate in Standard First Aid and 1-year certificate in Adult CPR. $65.00 per person Workplace Adult CPR, First Aid and AED- 7 hours This course gives participants in the workplace the knowledge and skills necessary to recognize and care for injuries and sudden illness. Instruction includes First Aid, Adult CPR and how to use an Automated External Defibrillator (AED) for victims of sudden cardiac arrest. The course fee includes participant’s booklet and laminated skills cards. 3-year certificate in First Aid and 1-year certificate in Adult CPR/AED. $70.00 per person Adult, Child & Infant CPR and First Aid – 8 hours This course teaches individuals to respond to breathing/cardiac emergencies in adults, children and infants. Instruction includes how to recognize and respond to sudden illnesses and injuries such as: bleeding control, burns, shock prevention, fractures, etc. Price includes participant’s booklet and three laminated skills cards, which can be used to refresh memory throughout the year. 3-year certificate in First Aid and 1-year certificate in CPR. $75.00 per person Workplace Adult CPR – 4 hours Participants will learn how to recognize and respond to choking, respiratory, and cardiac emergencies until advanced medical personnel arrive. Course includes participant’s booklet and laminated CPR skills card, which participants can refer to throughout the year. 1-year certificate in Adult CPR. $45.00 per person Workplace Adult CPR w/AED- 5 hours Participants will learn how to recognize and respond to respiratory emergencies, choking and cardiac emergencies until advanced medical personnel arrive. Instruction includes Adult CPR and how to use an Automated External Defibrillator (AED) for victims of sudden cardiac arrest. Course includes participant’s booklet and laminated skills card. 1-year certificate in Adult CPR/AED. $55.00 per person Workplace AED Training - 2 hours Participants will learn the basics steps to safely use an automated external defibrillator, including rationale for early defibrillation and the role of CPR in cardiac arrest situations. Proper procedures and unit maintenance included. Lecture, video & hands on training with state of the art equipment. Course can be customized to fulfill basic Title 22 AED requirements. Course includes laminated skills card and a 1-year AED certificate. Prerequisite: current Adult CPR certificate. $35.00 per person. Workplace First Aid - 4 hours Participants will learn skills necessary to recognize and provide basic first aid care for injuries and sudden illnesses until advanced medical care arrives. Program includes victim assessment, bleeding control, shock prevention, burns, poisoning, fractures, bandaging, splinting, etc. Course includes participant’s booklet and laminated first aid skills card. 3-year certificate in First Aid. $45.00 per person Workplace CPR Review Courses – 2 to 4 hours Participants can receive a renewed certificate by successfully completing the Workplace Review course. This course can include optional AED review. Prerequisite: Current American Red Cross certificate within the past 12 months. Adult CPR - 2-3 hours Adult, Child and/or Infant CPR – 4 hours Adult CPR and AED – 3 hours CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer – 4 hours $35.00 per person. CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer - 8 hours Participants will learn how to recognize and respond to breathing and cardiac emergencies for adults, children, and infants. Program includes two-rescuer CPR, use of resuscitation mask and bag-valve mask and is designed for the rescuer who has a duty to respond, or for participants with the desire for advanced CPR knowledge. Course includes pocket mask, book and a 1-year CPR for the Professional Rescuer certificate. $80.00 per person Emergency Response - 54 hours Train your team in advanced level first aid. This curriculum meets and exceeds 1995 US Department of Transportation first Responder: National Standard Curriculum. Key content areas include: CPR for the Professional Rescuer; Injuries and Sudden Illness; Preventing Disease Transmission; Oxygen Administration, Emergency Childbirth, basic AED and Critical Incident Stress Debriefing. Customize the class and build the program that’s right for your company: the comprehensive course of 54 hours or divide the course into modules to address your specific training needs. 3-year certificate in Emergency Response & 1-year certificate in CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer. $250.00 per person Business Emergency Response Team Training (BERTT) - 28 hours in seven 4-hour modules The BERTT program is designed to develop multifunctional response teams that will provide for business self-sufficiency during emergency and disaster situations. The benefits include: increasing overall level of disaster readiness, provide emergency skills that employees may use in day-to-day emergencies, enhance the bond between government and business, and increase employee morale. Modules include: Introduction to Emergency Preparedness; Fire Education & Evacuation; Search & Rescue; Medical Mobilization & Triage; Emergency Medical Operations; Team Organization & Management; Course Review & Disaster Simulation/Drill. $250.00 per person for all seven modules $295.00 per person for all modules plus BERT Backpack stocked with some recommended supplies. Oxygen Administration for the Professional Rescuer – 3 hours Using and assembling resuscitation and bag-valve masks, oxygen cylinders, regulators, and delivery devices. When and how to administer supplemental oxygen. 1-year certificate in Oxygen Administration. $30.00 per person. WORKPLACE INJURY PREVENTION MODULES These one hour modules can be added on to the First Aid and CPR classes for a reduced fee of only $15.00 per person. The regular cost is $25.00* per person w/o First Aid & CPR. Large group discounts available. Workplace Bloodborne Pathogens: Preventing Disease Transmission Train employees regarding safe workplace practices, to report and follow up on employee exposures to infectious materials, and to reduce the number of employees who contract bloodborne infections, such as hepatitis B, HIV, etc., at their worksite. This course will assist your workplace to comply with the training component of OSHA’s bloodborne pathogen requirements. Includes participant manual and 1-year Preventing Disease Transmission certificate. Workplace ErgonomicsParticipants will learn the skills necessary to identify and reduce the risks for musculoskeletal disorders (MSDs) in the workplace. Includes Ergonomics reading material and a Certificate of Completion in the Red Cross Ergonomics course. Workplace Slips, Trips & Falls Participants will learn how to identify and reduce risks in the workplace to avoid slips, trips and falls. Includes Slips, Trips & Falls reading material and a Certificate of Completion in Red Cross Slips, Trips & Falls. Workplace Violence Awareness Participants will learn how to identify the warning signals of potential workplace violence and steps to reduce risks of becoming a victim. Includes Workplace Violence Awareness reading material and a Certificate of Completion. Workplace Back Injury Prevention Participants will learn how to reduce the risk of back injury through simple exercises and changing personal habits. Includes Back Injury Prevention booklet and Certificate of Completion. Managing Stress This module will help participants learn how to recognize the causes and signal of stress, identify ways to manage stressful situations and develop personal strategies for managing stress. Includes Managing Stress booklet and Certificate of Completion. Your Heart Matters This module will help participants recognize the signals of a heart attack, identify risk factors for coronary heart disease and develop a plan to reduce risk for heart disease. Includes Your Heart Matters booklet and Certificate of Completion. *Minimum module fee is $250.00. OTHER RED CROSS COURSES Earthquake and Disaster Preparedness for the Workplace Participants will learn the basics on how to prepare, respond and cope with a major disaster. Topics include how to mitigate their office area, what to physically do in the event of an earthquake and other disasters, what kind of supplies to have on hand, etc. Program can be customized to fit your specific employee needs and can include home preparedness. Includes personal preparedness brochures and a company certificate in Disaster Preparedness. No Cost if taught with other course. Triage w/Moulage - 3 hours Participants will learn the basic concept of triaging victims in a multiple casualty incident. Participants will also have the opportunity to participate in an exercise drill using their new skills. Requires a minimum of 6 volunteers who will be moulaged and role-play during the drill. Course includes handouts a Certificate of Participation in Triage. $35.00 per person. (Victims are free and will learn as much as participants and receive same certificate.) First Aid and Preparedness - 1 ½ hours Prepare Employees with the Basic Steps to Manage Emergency Situations - Participants learn key information that will help them stay prepared with valuable lifesaving skills. Topics include: The Together We Prepare 5 Emergency Action Steps; Bleeding Control; Shock Prevention; Muscle and Joint Injuries; Burns; Warning Signs of Heart Attack, Stroke and Cardiac Arrest. This interactive presentation is ideal for any employee who wants to learn lifesaving skills but does not want or need to receive the certification awarded by the Red Cross First Aid/CPR/AED program. Course includes: Safety Tube (a personal safety kit), A First Aid and Preparedness participant’s booklet, and a First Aid and Emergency preparedness quick reference guide. $30.00 per person. Water Safety Today - 2 hours This course , (which replaces Community Water Safety), presents easy to remember safety tips for pools, spas, water parks, lakes, rivers, oceans and more. It is ideal for parents and people who participate in activities in and around the water. This course does not require any in water activity. This class satisfies foster care requirements. $25.00 per person (includes Water Safety Handbook). FIRST AID MODULES All modules are $15.00 per person and include a certificate of participation The following modules can be completed in a 1 hour sessions and are perfect for refresher training or special lunchtime lectures: Conscious Choking Maneuver - Review practice conscious choking maneuvers for an Adult. Bleeding Control/Burns - Review/practice bleeding control, burns, bandaging, etc. Fractures, Strains & Sprains - Review/practice response to fractures, strains & sprains. Sudden Illnesses - Review/practice response to heart attack, stroke, diabetic emergencies & hot/cold emergencies.
