Meet Our Volunteers

In 2008 at the Orange County Chapter, a total of 1295 volunteers provided 54,209 hours of service to the community. Volunteers participate in all aspects of Red Cross Service, contributing time and expertise to assist Red Cross clients and help prepare our local communities. This page spotlights some of the many wonderful volunteers who serve American Red Cross of Orange County.

Madison Burtchaell

"With Red Cross, I see the best in people when they come together in times of emergency. Recently, one of our client families at a Red Cross shelter was so grateful that they wanted to let me know they plan to help others when they get the chance. Working with Red Cross staff, volunteers, and clients has given me renewed faith in humanity."

Ajay Ohri

"After I went to Red Cross Leadership Development Camp, I was hooked. The staff created a positive learning environment where I got involved with my peers. Helping other people has helped me to grow into a better leader, and to be a good role model for kids who might not have the same opportunities that I had."

Nikki McClelland

"As an Aquatics provider and a parent, I initially sought out Red Cross because of the strong name recognition and the high quality standards. Now I am a Red Cross volunteer instructor for Safety & Preparedness training and I’ve found a kinship with the people at the Orange County Chapter. My motivation is simply to teach people lifesaving emergency safety skills; what better reward is there than to be in front of students who are eager to learn!"
